Chow is a dark stony substance. The Beans eat it and the Hoi-Polloi use it for money.
Chow begins as a Sprout-Butt which is given to the Hoi-Polloi after chow is stolen in a Chow Raid. The Hoi-Polloi then ring the sprout-butt and sing and sweet-talk it while it goes through a five-step metamorphosis.
